Hi, lovelies! So it’s Memorial Day and I have some polish to share with you.

Magical Protector by Parrot Polish

This shifty, chrome flakie beauty is called Magical Protector and it’s from the What Dreams Are Made Of collection by Parrot Polish. Parrot Polish, founded in 2014, is run by a lovely husband and wife duo. Their polishes are 7 free and cruelty free.  The What Dreams Are Made Of collection features 7 shifty, flakie polishes of different variations, 3 of which I own and will show you in future posts.

Magical Protector by Parrot Polish

For Magical Protector, I started with one coat of black polish- Dark Knight by Funky Fingers (which you can buy at Five Below). I wasn’t yet sure of how MP would apply, so at first I sponged it on. But I soon realized it was thick enough to just polish it on normally. I did 2 coats to make sure I covered up all the black, but you really only need one coat if you’re not taking close up pictures of it! As you can see in pictures where my fingers are angled, Magical Protector shifts from pink to green to gold. You will actually see the shifts better in person as they seem to show up much better in low and regular lamp lighting. Unfortunately for me, you can’t get decent pics in that kind of lighting. Well, maybe if you’re a pro, but I am definitely not.

After the polish dried, I added a coat of top coat for extra shine. These flakies lay perfectly flat on the nail. There’s nothing sticking up when you’re finished with a regular polish application.

The formula was very nice, and not gloopy like you might expect with a polish that’s jam packed full of flakies! As I said, I did 2 coats for opacity, but you could get away with one!

This is the first polish I’ve ever tried with flakies like this. I have to say, I really like the look of them! I’m pretty excited to try the other 2 polishes I have from this collection! I’m going to be stamping over these, so I’ll see you in the next post!
