Flashback Friday with OPNL and Gothic Gala!

Hey! Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! We all know on this day you can’t drink, do drugs, or have premarital sex or some dude in a hockey mask is gonna slice through your torso with a machete! Good times! hahaha

Today I have a mani that I believe I did a year ago….when our beloved Gothic Gala Lacquers was still in business, but about to close. Also featured in this mani is You Got the Zest of Me, which Dave from Octopus Party Nail Lacquer sent me as a get well gift after my breast reduction surgery. (Considering getting this yourself? I’m open to any questions. :-D)

You Got the Zest of Me by Octopus Party Nail Lacquer and Pennsylvania by Gothic Gala Lacquers

Fall nail art using OPNL and Gothic Gala polishes

As you might see from this, I was a big fan of the skittle and skittlette mani! (It’s been too long. I love them still!) For those of you not as deep down the rabbit hole as the rest of us indie polish lovers, a skittle is a mani where you do something different on every nail. A skittlette will have a couple nails the same.

For this, I did 2 coats of You Got the Zest of Me by OPNL on every finger. Outside the polish takes on a bit of an orange tone, but inside is reminiscent of caramel apples. It’s also filled with iridescent flakies. I used Gothic Gala’s Pennsylvania on my thumbs and middle fingers. In the center of those, I put a square stud from Born Pretty. On my index and pinky fingers, I did a glitter gradient using GGL’s Autumn Leaves. On my ring fingers I used Pennsylvania to stamp an owl image from Pueen’s Love Elements collection- plate pueen40.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer and Gothic Gala Lacquers are by far my biggest stashes of nail polish. They had two different aesthetics, but paired together so well. I used them both in many a mani.

Hope you all liked this flashback and thanks for stopping by!
