Born Pretty Rhinestone Review

Hi, all! Hope your week is going well so far! Nothing exciting here. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the Curly Girl Method. My hair is naturally wavy/curly and I found this awesome group by accident on Facebook. My hair is already transforming. It’s crazy! If you’re interested, it’s the Curly Girl (Method) Support Group International. There’s all kinds of information on what you should and shouldn’t be using on your curls, how to get the most curl, what kind of cuts to get, etc. Go forth and learn about thy natural hair! hahaha

I have an item from Born Pretty to review! It’s these super pretty White Opal Rhinestones.

I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them in Born Pretty’s shop. They looked so beautiful and elegant. You get a small pouch, which they say is about 8g., and they come in several different sizes.

I got this nude polish in one of my Ipsy bags and thought it was the perfect pairing for the rhinestones. It’s Proud Coat by Inara Cosmobeauty. It’s a streaky crème and was almost opaque in 2 coats. I didn’t do a 3rd coat because I knew the rhinestones would distract from the streakiness.

The rhinestones are very easy to apply. I use a dotting tool with a bit of top coat on the tip to help pick them up and place them. I start out by doing my most detailed nail. I lay down a coat of regular top coat, not fast dry, because I wouldn’t have enough time to place the stones. When I do rhinestones, I like to add steel balls to give it the illusion of a jewelry setting. I think it looks prettier. After doing the most detailed nails, I then can see what would best complement those nails on my other fingers. One layer of top coat helps seal it in! Advice- to give it more staying power, get enough polish around the edges, because that is where you’re most likely to lose the steel balls. Oh- also, I got these at Born Pretty as well. It was actually my first item from them ever back in 2012.

Overall, I’m very happy with how this turned out! The rhinestones are beautiful and I’ll definitely be using them again in the future, as this type of nail art is my favorite to do!
