Hi, all! I don’t know if anyone noticed, but I took several days off from the blog. I’ll call them “mental health days,” lol.
So last night we took our cat- Larry- to the vet for a follow-up on his many parasites that he brought home from the rescue we got him at. We had to squirt medicine into the poor guy’s mouth FIVE times a day for over a week, not to mention the ointments… He used to be cuddly, but started trying to sneak away when we picked him up, thinking he was getting another dose of medicine. Our perseverance paid off, though, and he is now pest free! Hooray!

Onto some polish! I managed to amass a small hoard of nail polish pictures to be edited for posts since last week. Today’s post is one of Octopus Party Nail Lacquer‘s fall polishes, called Psychopomp, inspired by Haitian Vodou. Psychopomp is described on the site as “a sheer violet jelly with blue/indigo shifting pigment and multicolored iridescent flakies.” You can wear it alone and as a topper. I happened to do it both ways….Forgive the different nail lengths in comparisons. That stupid middle finger breaking! Without further ado, Psychopomp-

In the above picture, I have 2 coats of Psychopomp layered over Your Majesty, a purple polish with purple shimmer, by Pure Ice. They both appeared to be in the same color family, but together they kind of turned into this cobalt color! If you’re looking for an undie that will be purple with Psychopomp on top, I highly suggest using a swatch wheel. Try different bases until you get what you like.

In the above picture, I added one coat of Lucky 13 Lacquer’s matte top coat- We’re All Matte Here. I really love this matted. It really highlights the flakies in a way that glossy top coats cannot. Next, I arted over that sucker!

I used Rose Parade from Pueen’s Super Intense line and I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I thought the pink would be more saturated than this. The plate I used is from Winstonia’s 3rd generation of plates- W302. You can get them on Amazon.
Ready to see Psychopomp alone? Here she is in 3 medium coats with no undies.

I have to admit, I like this polish both ways. Alone, it has a little more of an ethereal look to it.

The formula on this was good. You just have to watch, because the color will build up more on the sides, so you need to even it out. Finally, I have some comparisons.

That’s all, folks! I should see you soon with some more indie polishes!
I prefer it layered and matte. And yay for kitty!
